5 Genuinely Helpful Accessories for PC That You Should Have

I am that 90s kid who still uses a PC for most of his tasks – from working to gaming. I need my PC the most as I am highly reliant on it.

Having said that, since I am so dependent on it, I need it in the best shape and in the most seamless working condition. How exactly do I maintain that? By using accessories that are less of a gimmick and more of genuinely helpful gadgets that help me every day.

To make it seamless and more helpful, I wasted a lot of my hard-earned bucks on flashy accessories that didn’t move the needle. To save you from that exact hassle, let me share the accessories that are genuinely helpful to use with your PC.

Without further ado, let’s dive right into them.

  1. Headphone Stand with Charger

One of the things I hate on my desk is cables, and there were a lot of them until I found this headphone stand with charging ports.

My life has never been this easier, and my desk has never been this tidy. It combines a headphone stand along with multiple USB charging ports and a cable organizer.

Previously, I used to have a separate headphone stand and an extension to charge the peripherals. And there was no cable organizer. Not that it took more space, it was more costly than this all-in-one accessory. I can charge everything in one place now with this headphone stand, and it is so much easier.

The only hassle is attaching it to the bottom of your desk. Either you have to use an adhesive tape or two screws to fix it. Once it is there, I doubt that your life will not be easy.

  1. WiFi Signal Booster

Well, this might not sound like a PC accessory, but it is one of the most important things that you can have to enhance your overall online experience, provided that you have a reliable internet provider.

Reliable internet provider? Yes, I have a big home, and multiple people are using the WiFi, so I need a reliable internet connection. For reliable internet, I use Spectrum, which offers fiber internet connectivity and 24/7 customer service

As for the WiFi extender, I have a TP-Link AX3000 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Extender (RE715X). It transmits the WiFi signal to every corner and room of my home.

Whether you game on your PC or work from home on it, a WiFi booster certainly improves the signal strength, ensuring your connection remains fast and stable.

  1. LED for PC Case

It might sound like a gimmick, but this helps in keeping your whole CPU running at its best. How? Let me walk you through that.

An LED for your PC case isn’t just a flashy display; it displays statistics like the GPU usage, temperature of the system, and more useful numbers.

You can utilize these numbers to promptly spot something off with your PC before it is too late.

Some cases come with this display, but that will cost you more; you will be replacing your existing case, and on top of that, such cases are already pretty expensive.

So, it is better to get a separate display for your PC. I personally use a Phanteks 5.5-inch 1440p IPS display, and I love it. Either you can get exactly that, or explore more options meanwhile.

  1. USB Hub

This is particularly be helpful if you are planning to skip the headphone stand that comes with the charger.

Your PC might have a lot of peripherals that need a Type-C charger to power up, while there might be limited Type-C ports on the all-in-one headphone stand and charger, a USB hub can offer you more flexibility.

Multiple options are available that are tailored to your charging needs. Some might have more USB-A ports, while others will have more Type-C ports. So, choose accordingly, but this is a must-have if you are skipping the headphone stand with charging ports.

That said, which one should you go for: an all-in-one headphone stand or this USB hub? Well, I think the stand is better because it offers more utility than just charging ports.

  1. Lap Desk

Last but not least, a lap desk is something that you must have, especially if you work on-site and then unwind in front of your PC.

Here is why I love it: I come home after a long day of work, sitting on a chair that might be comfortable, but not for a consistent dozen hours of work. So, a couch would work, but the problem with the couch was the placement of the keyboard, mouse, and other stuff.

The solution to this was a lap desk that sits just like a normal desk, but more comfortable with cushions, a cable organizer, and an ample space to rest my arm, and place my keyboard and mouse.

This made my life so easy, and made me a couch potato as well (yeah, I need to lose some stubborn pounds). Anyway, if you need the ultimate comfort on your couch, a lap desk is the way to go.

Well, that is it for some genuinely helpful accessories to use with your PC to enhance your overall experience. Do you have another one in mind? Let us know in the comments!
